Guilty of Helping a Charity and Having Fun Too!

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

Guilty Customs participated in the 2nd Annual Real Ride hosted by Shannon Burke of Real Radio 104.1 this weekend with about 800 of our close friends all to benefit Camp Boggy Creek. We had a great time showing off Errant with her foot clutch and hand shift and everyone seemed to enjoy our new pilot’s helmet and paint job. Meeting old friends and making new one is a great way to spend the day. And boy was it a great riding weather day too! We ate some great food, had some awesome riding, and saw some great bikes and scenery. Shannon and his crew put on a great police escorted ride which was well organized, with plenty of food and drink and great music. If your not familiar with this ride, you should put it on your “To-Do” list for next year as it benefits Camp Boggy Creek which provides services for Special Needs Children. So take a look at some of the pictures from the event.

History of Choppers by Louis Wieland

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

History of Choppers explores the past, present and future of how chopper riders and builders are pushing this metallic self-expression into the realm of art. history-of-choppers-cover-01.jpgFrom the sleek lines of a custom ride to the savage beauty of a rat bike scrambled together from spare parts, every chopper represents something unique about tis owner and is the ultimate statement of who the rider is. Motorcycle enthusiasts have been “chopping” bikes (making them lighter by removing or chopping off necessary parts) since the 1940s, and have contained to evolve as a culture group since the ’60 and in the ’70s, when they got their name and appeared in the defining 1969 film Easy Rider. In this first book that reveals the history and modern incarnation of the chopper, author R. Louis Wieland captures these unbelievable combinations of sculpture, attitude, and individuality, cobbled together from fact, anecdotes, half-truths, and tall tales — just like the bikes themselves. With full-color photographs of some of the most extraordinary bikes today, History of Choppers also tells the stories of the people behind the paint and pipes that make their choppers unique. Book retails for around $19.95.

A Car or Motorcycle…..or just a Carver?

Who says’ you can’t have the best of two worlds!! When true vision meets paradigm, paradigm always blinks first. splash1.jpg This vehicle is called the VentureOne, a revolutionary 3-wheel, tilting, plug-in Hybrid vehicle. Imagine combining the performance feel of a sports car with the agility of a motorcycle. The engine is located in the rear of the vehicle, and the passenger compartment and the front wheel tilt when cornering. Take some time to visit the site and view the video’s and read the materials.

One Helmet and 30 minutes of radio time

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

We’re always looking for something unique here at Guilty. So, it shouldn’t come as a suprise that we had to have something on our knoggen that was different and unique. Granted we ride some very unique choppers, but nothing to protect the old gray matter (brain, not hair). We contacted a young up-and-coming painter, named Jose Sapere to do something different for us. And boy did he! Take a browse and look for us wearing this ex-aviator helmet out and about central Florida. We’re sure you won’t miss us with this thing!!!

This Saturday (the 19th) we were featured live on the “In Gear Motorcycle Radio Talk Show” with Greg Hovie out of Lubbock Texas. Greg is a great host and we had some very good discussions on the state of the V-twin and American motorcycle industry, as well as influences of the metric and european markets. If your interested in getting his show, go to www.newsradio1420.com and look for the “listen” link. You won’t be dissapointed

Show-me-off to the world in a Motorcycle Funeral!??

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

There is always something to prick the interest of the motorcycle community. We’ve seen urns to carry your loved one around on your bike after they have departed; also chairs made to look like motorcycles, and even wine that’s targeted to the biking community (which i’ve heard is very good). We’ve got the newest (at least for me) venture to capture the bikers dollar, the Motorcycle Funeral. funerals_motorcycle.gifA company in Great Britain, The Motorcycle Funeral Service is offering various packages for those departed one to be wisked off to the graveyard by their loved ones. You have a choice of mounts to choose from, “Proper British Mounts” (which i’m not sure what that means), cafe racers, Hayabusa’s to regular H-D. Is this a European thing or am i missin’ something here? And from what i’ve read, it’s something people really enjoy as there is an area for comments from clients (‘m assuming the living ones). Personally, throw me in the toaster, scoop me up, and spread me to the 4 corners…..just don’t parade me around town just for your ease of mind. Enough said.

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

I was recently digging through some sites for news and information and stumbled across this neat little quiz that had me scratching my head a bit. I knew most of the anwers, but some, well just out of my league. So, you “know-it-all’s” that think your up on all the trivia of the motorcycle, try this quiz on for size….which is the “Life and Times of the Motorcycle” display that was at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Canada. You remember those northern kin of ours don’t ya? Click HERE. Have fun too!

Trunk Monkeys for Bikers!

Friday, May 18th, 2007

I’m not an advocate for violence by any means, but this set of commercials is awesome! Done for a auto group out west someplace, it’s something we bikers wish we had for dealing with idiotic cagers who don’t think or look when they drive. Enjoy!“>

The First Motorcycle? Was one HOT bike!

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

I’m not sure i would have had the “stones” to have strapped my legs around this puppy! Anyway, we found this article about the first motorcycle which was a steam powered oddity built by Sylvester Roper in 1869. It was a steam powered bicycle or motorcycle.
It went through several revisions, and by 1896 it could do 40 mph, and ran 7 miles on one load of coal. Posted in General Motorcycle Industry News | No Comments »

Black List Tour at Sturgis

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

They’re definitely crankin’ the enthusiasm up this year for Sturgis with the Black List Tour. Glad to see these builders combining efforts for such an event. We pretty much have to do things in a “Group” in order to survive the industries ebbs and flows. Your seeing more and more “tag teaming” at events such as the upcoming Horse Smokeout in Salisbury (June 22-23) as well as at Sturgis with the Black List Tour, which is a sign-of-the-times. So enjoy them as they usually bring a unique twist to an event. Here is more on the event.
The Black List Tour is a hard-core fusion of skateboarding, Moto X, hot rods, custom bikes, music and art, designed to redefine and revolutionize rally entertainment, and provide the ultimate platform for cross generational expression. “Our goal for the tour is to showcase the custom lifestyle on a whole new level. We all like bikes, cars, moto-cross, skateboarding, snowboarding and a good mix of music from punk to rock-a-billy, to hard-core rock, you name it. The blacklist Tour will allow people to experience custom culture on a new level,” said the Black List Tour Coordinator. Talented builders will collaborate and build a complete bike on stage during Sturgis Bike Week that will be given away. That’s right, no $20, $50 or $100 ticket. Given away at the Black List Area in front of the Full Throttle Saloon to one lucky individual on August 10th.The Black List Tour entertainment will be laden with modern metal and punk rock music, high-flying skateboard and motocross athletes, hot rods, tattoo competitions, all taking place in front of the Full Throttle Saloon during Sturgis Bike Week, August 4th-11th, 2007. More information and specifics will be available soon. The Blacklist Tour hopes to revolutionize the custom culture experience, by combining custom bike building, music, art and extreme sports, redefining the cross-generational custom lifestyle, and will make the Full Throttle Saloon the place to be for every motorcycle enthusiast in Sturgis 2007. For more information, visit BLACKLIST TOUR.

Ridin’ on Air Without Any Guilt.

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Well, it had to happen eventually. People were so blown away with the spring coil shocks that we offer, that we had to follow-up with something just as cool. Which this is….it’s the new Chopper Shox Air Shock. alt=”cs air shox#1only”>” These shocks are 4″ eye to eye with aluminum bodies and have the same mounting dimensions as the coil overs and (if you already have ChopperShox’s), they can be interchanged on your existing mounts. The rubber cushion is 1″ tall and is made from industrial rubber (Elastomeric). The shrader valve can be used to fill with air if desired but is not needed. Pretty cool huh? These are available as dual or single shocks and already they are showing up on some pretty hot show bikes around the country. Also, our friend Paco, is making some kickin’ billet seat pans for these shocks.

Your bikes color (or the ones you wear) could save your life!

Monday, May 14th, 2007

An article in Cognitative Daily suggest that the colors you wear and ride, could mean the difference between life and death. Check this out as it’s very good reading and makes you think the next time you throw on your colors to ride. Play the video’s and see how long it takes to notice the changes in the pictures…Makes ya think!most1.gif

Squirrel attacks riders helmet over turf war!

Monday, May 14th, 2007

furhelmet3.jpgGoodness, the places we dig up in search of unique items so you’ll be entertained and educated! So, your girl won’t ride with you until she has the perfect helmet? And plus, most helmets she’s seen are so unfashionable. Well, we have the answer right here. Yep, it’s the fashion accessory we’ve all been waiting for…helmets that will seperate you from the crowd….literally.
denum-helmet.jpgcamo-helmet.jpg
You have helmets available in fur, so your rides in the wilderness won’t be so boring… We’re sure you asking also about those camo or denim helmets as well. These helmets are available from a company out of the UK called Nexx. I’ve seen big furry helmets on some burly guys (and gal’s) riding H-D’s at Bike Week or Sturgis, but they usually have big horns attached. I’ve always championed the integration of form and fashion…but this….Hmm … now all ya need are matching jackets.
