So, How Do You Drive a Ducati USB Drive?
First we had the Triumph Twin USB, now we have Ducati and SanDisk teaming up to bring us the Ducati Edition line of compact flash cards and USB drives. While it’s all slick, sexy and bright red, i think it just boils down to another case of “mine is better/bigger than yours” one-ups-manship for those tecky guys setting around the business or lunch table gaining bragging rights. But then again, who am i to throw darts!? I kind of like it myself.
Initial distribution is planned for August in North America and Europe, with the cards available through photo specialty stores, high-end niche retailers, high-end department stores, Ducati network shops and other outlets, including on-line. Suggested retail prices are $164.99 for the 4GB CompactFlash card, $314.99 for the 8GB CompactFlash card and $129.99 for the 4GB SD Plus card. They will also be available for pre-order on the SanDisk website at www.sandisk.com/Ducati.
