Beef Jerky Underpants

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Back away from the jerky...slowly.

Back away from the jerky...slowly.

Knowing the type crowd that reads this blog we’re confident there will be some that will actually purchase a set of these. If for no other reason that to have something to talk about with friends or some warped surprise for your mate. Guess if it’s not a hit you can always give it to the dogs to chew on after dinner.  Doubtful vegetarians will be swarming to get a pair of these. Priced at $139.00, these underpants are “made to order for each specific customer from the highest quality of dried preserved meats we can find at the closest convenience store”. Warning: the untreated jerky is not for human consumption, but the maker does have a warning of sorts: “Rumor has it that wearing our brief jerky undergarments will release their natural pheremones once your body heat and moisture kicks in!” Hmm. Yeah.  Ok ladies, weigh in on this saucy item.

Hey, thanks for coming back! Great to see there are a few of you out there that have taste and style! Seriously, thanks for visiting. If you know of stories you think people would be interested in, shoot us a line C'ya!

Kids Motorcycle Rocking Horse

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

rocking Horse MotorcycleIs this the coolest kids’ toy ever?  This Rocking Horse is a custom built bike rocker made by Felix Götze of Berlin. He noticed three year old Otto Komei staring wistfully out the window at the bike gang across the street as they spent their days souping up their choppers. After one of the gang wheelied off down the street, Felix decided to build the kid his own custom ride. And people say bikers are a rough crowd?!! The Rocking Horse is built from old German motorcycle parts — a two stroke engine, a sprung saddle and a neat headlamp.  This is 100% awesome.

Honoring Fallen Comrades, Soldiers Plan 824 Mile Hike

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Soldiers MemorialBeing raised in the military (also having a brother still serving), we are keenly aware of the sacrifices our troops make everyday to protect this country. What we are continually reminded of too, is the bond that soldiers carry with them throughout their lives, and even beyond. Such is the case with the news that twelve highly motivated men (in two man teams-one being Ash Spurlin whom Guilty Customs was fortunate to build “Errant 2” for) will relay march over 800 miles, from San Antonia TX to Destin Florida carrying 50 lb. ruck  sacks and a memorial plaque for (USAF) Staff Sgt Tim Davis a USAF Combat Controller killed in action on February 20, 2009. This relay is in honor of him and all Special Tactics (ST) teammates who lost their lives in the line of duty, to include Tech Sgt Will Jefferson, and Tech Sgt Scott Duffman. The teams are looking to raise awareness and support for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). The SOWF provides full scholarship grants, educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations members who die in operational or training missions. They additionally provide immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations members and their families. SOWF currently has 119 students in colleges and universities across the country. Their official website is http://www.specialops.org/.

The 824 journey will begin October 6, 2009 at 0500 hours (5 am for you civilians) at the Combat Control Selection Course Lackland Air Force Base (San Antonio), TX.  The mission will be completed approximately eight to nine days later at Hurlburt Field (Fort Walton Beach), Florida, October 17, 2009. Tim’s name will be added to the Combat Control Memorial at the Hurlburt Field Air Park.  You can find out more about the route, fallen soldiers and their efforts for this march, HERE.  So, help spread the word by reposting this blog or emailing to friends and family.

Guilty Customs Daytona Interview

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Limpnickie LotWe get stoked every time we hear or see news about the Limpnickie Lot. Just show’s we’re getting more and more into the fabric of this industry and with that giving the next generation of riders and builders something to consider when looking at this industry.  Whether it’s on national tv shows like American Thunder, or on video’s from industry people, “any press” is always good press!  Such is the case during the last Daytona Bike Week when the video crew came through the lot to shoot some footage on various builders and personalities.  Thus they gave yours truly a chance to talk a bit about my passions, ideas, impressions on the movement.  So here ya go.  Just goes to show ya, some media people will put anyone in front of the camera!!  See it HERE.

Broken Spoke Does Art Right

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Indian Larry

In an effort to bring some culture to the deranged, demented and somewhat crazy souls that frequent Sturgis during the rally, Jay Allen is announcing the addition of a fine art gallery to the Broken Spoke, Sturgis County Line, located on route 79. The Broken Spoke Saloon has been a long-time supporter of the artistic community within the motorcycling world and Jay has created a unique space in the upper portion of the main bar to display the work of some of the industries leading artists. You’ll see work from David Uhl, John Guillemette, Jeff Cochran and Colleen Swartz along with bikes from Billy Lane, Ron Finch, Samantha Morgan and the BSS Worlds Fastest Indian and two more to be announced later.

The Legends Gallery opening will be on Sunday, August 2nd at 6-9 PM following the conclusion of the Michael Lichter Ride at the Sturgis County Line. You are welcome to join the curator, Jay Allen along with the legendary artists, bike builders and iconic industry guests for a hors d’œuvres reception. The Gallery will be open throughout the Sturgis Rally from Noon until Midnight. Jay, thanks for bringing this to us at the Broken Spoke.  We’re excited to see this!

Milwaukee Iron Closing Doors

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Milwaukee Iron LogoAs a company that builds custom bikes, Guilty has the opportunity on a regular basis to meet some of the industries most respected and admired.  And we are constantly reminded of their trail blazing efforts whether that be in design, fabrication or business practices. One such person is Randy Simpson from Milwaukee Iron.  Randy is one of those people that has always been an inspiration and a fine example of  a company that exemplified “quality Made-In-America” parts. With all the stuff swirling around in the industry, Randy has weathered the test of time.  He never  drank “his own koolaid” or listened to the media’s hype, but rather forged through on his own vision and mission in life, all-the-while never forgetting about those that walked that road with him. Like all businesses, though, the economic down turn facing our nation has taken it’s toll.  Which is why Randy has decided to close the doors of Milwaukee Iron. On August 27th of this year the company will go up on auction and everything is for sale. If you want to reach Randy whether to wish him the best in his next phase of life or inquire about purchasing some of his inventory, you can contact him at: 434-385-1044.

Guilty Truth Blog going through name change

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Just a brief update: Due to continued growth of our blog as well as wider audience demographics plus feedback from those “powers to be” in the marketing and blog industry the Guilty Truth Blog is undergoing a name change. So, over the next few months, you’ll notice the header being changed to read, “Push’n Pavement” to reflect this change in name. Don’t worry, nothing will change about our commitment to keeping current on things happening in the industry, our warped sense of humor as well as opinionated views. BTW, we’ve heard there is a song on the airwaves now (can’t remember artist name), but having this on our list for over a year now we feel it gives us some cred on legitimacy and originality.  Plus we have no interest in torturing you with our singing voice either.  So, anyway, just a heads up on what we’ll be undertaking over the upcoming months.

Helping To Educate Women Motorcycle Riders

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

IWMC-LogoOur friends over at Bikes In the Fast Lane had an update we wanted to pass along to our women readers. August 19th to the 22nd has AMA hosting International Women & Motorcycling Conference  at the Keystone Resort & Conference Center in Keystone, Colorado. The 4 day event is meant to educate and inform women on the joys of riding a motorcycle.  There will be several seminars, with topics like solo riding and touring, preparing for a ride, dealing with dealers, accident management, etc. There will be several guest speakers, one being Carla King (Motorcycle Misadventures)  Regular readers of this blog know we’re big supporters of women riders (we have daughters that ride) and close female friends in the industry, but more than that we see everyday their impact on this industry.  And it’s good to see supports such as Harley, Buell, BMW, Yamaha, Bell, and EagleRider stepping up to the plate and supporting.

Trade in that clunker for a motorcycle!?

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Big Bright BikeCould you get a $2500.00 voucher for that clunker or old bike you have in the shed for a new motorcycle?  Seems, yes you can IF Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) has his way with a new bill he’s introduced.  Casey has introduced S. 1248, the Green Transportation Efficiency Act of 2009, aka the Green TEA bill. The Casey bill would provide a $2500 voucher (when trading in an older car or bike) to purchase a brand new motorcycle from a participating, registered dealership.

The Motorcycle Riders Foundation took note that the President recently signed the Car Allowance Rebate System bill, also known as CARS, or by its former moniker, “cash for clunkers.” This law provides individual Americans with vouchers up to $4500 toward the purchase of a new automobile when trading in an older, less efficient vehicle.

Monkey Rock Anyone?

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Monkey RockNow that the former “Thunder Road” is no more, the location has taken on new management by the name of “Monkey Rock”.  Aside from the cool name, the organizers are pulling out the plugs in an effort to gain some momentum.  Thus offering (from 11am to who knows when) live rock and country music acts, dancing girls, Worlds Largest Cocktail Party, girls, special guest appearances and autograph session, girls, motorcycle stunt riding, girls, Miss Sturgis Contest, wet t-shirt contests, girls, live radio broadcasts, girls, motorcycle tributes, games, fun, girls! Did we say girls?

While the listing of exhibitors includes such known builders as Eddie Trotta, Ron Simms Custom Cycles they will also include Titan Motorcycles, Rivco Products, Boss Hoss, Hellenbach, and hopefully others in the 200,000 square foot complex. One definite cool factor (especially if your tired of the “road kill” food vendors) is that Monkey Rock has partnered with Outback Steakhouse and will deliver the best food in Sturgis from 9am-11pm daily. “Nobody does food better than they do and there will be no compromise in Sturgis,” stated Monkey Rock Chief Operating Officer Chris Edwards. Just aim your bike to Highway 34 between August 1 to the 10th from 8am to 2pm. Updates and exhibitor information can be found on their web site www.monkeyrock.us

Iron Works & Special Op’s Soldier

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Iron Works July 09 Issue featuring Errant 2.With the July issue of Iron Works magazine hitting the stands this week there is a lot of  excitement with the Guilty Gang.  Why?  Well, inside is an excellent article written by IW’s Editor Marilyn Stemp, about the build done by the “Gang” for Special Op’s soldier Ash Spurlin. As some of your will remember, last year we started following the build and the story of Ash and his newest bike:  See HERE.  Ash took delivery of his bike at Daytona Beach during Bike Week and now can be heard barreling through the country side with his newest ride.  (Seems Ash can’t get enough of the “cool ride” factor).

Anyway, we’re glad that Ash is enjoying his new ride. And thanks to all those readers who have contacted Guilty Customs to say “Great Job”.  This was truly one cool build and we’re glad to see people appreciate the sacrifice  this nations soldiers are making for our country, as well as the bikes they ride.
