Seems those “always-fashionable-gotta-try-something-new” guru’s over at Diesel have teamed up with helmet producers AGV (over 60 years of motorcycle market experience folks) and created a new helmet, tagged HI-Jack which is inspired from two of my favorite past times….helicopters (aka flying), motorcycle riding and anything custom. While the news release states it’s “for riders who insist on a high quality product with true Diesel style – rebellious, fresh, unconventional“, for me it’s just a cool looking (and hopefully functional) helmet. Since we’re stuck with wearing something on the dome here in SoCal, might as well have it look cool. The look, created by the Diesel team, and the range of chromatic variations in the graphics, reinforce the helicopter spirit at the heart of the HI-JACK. The curved polycarbonate visors with non-scratch treatment in transparent, smoke and silver are easily interchangeable, thanks to a system that allows removal without tools and can be adapted to the needs and style of each and every rider.
HI-JACK pays a lot of attention-to-detail – an ACF fiberglass shell, and internal padding in completely washable and removable sanitizing Dri-Lex® fabric. HI-Jack is supposed to be available around the end of June, and comes in the following colors and sizes from XXS to XL: Black/white/SK-Y 78, black/green, grey/black matt, white/stripes colour variants starting around $250. Granted it’s not as cool as having your own real helicopter helmet that’s been used for riding, like ours, but hey, this one’s probably a lot more safer!
