11th Annual Vegas Bike Fest? Or Feast?

Sep 8, 2011

It’s been said that “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, and while i can attest to only some portion of this statement, it probably won’t take long to spill your beans to the buddies once you return from this years Vegas Rally (September 29th-October 2nd) which just so happens to be the “Entertainment Capital of the World“?

So what is there to do you ask? Well, what other rally can boast a $100,000 Poker Runs sponsored by Counts’ Kustoms? How about the Artistry in Iron Master Builders’ Championship? Sounds like a plus for attending already! Like we’ve said, no one does it like the Las Vegas Bikefest does. Or how about Poker Tournaments just for registered visitors? How about some kickin’ Grand Prize Giveaways; where casinos hand out custom made bikes to some lucky smucks worth more than most people spend on their houses? And finally, none of those other rallies have a Mr. Las Vegas and Miss Las Vegas contest, as well as an official Bikini and Wet T-Shirt contest.

You’ll find all types of ways to get into trouble too we’re sure. In addition to some killer buffet eats at numerous casinos along the Strip, drown yourself in some of the various live entertainment options, and a host of other things to do at the Cashman Center where you’ll find the more than 250 vendors who’ve come for the extravaganza. Granted, we’re probably not dragging the family along for this event, as they do call Vegas “Sin City” for a reason. However, there are plenty of things for the wife and kids to do if you choose to bring them along as well.

After last year’s 10-year anniversary celebration, we expect Las Vegas BikeFest 2011 to rise to a new level of attendance and energy,” said Mindi Cherry, vice president at ConvExx, the show’s organizing company. “The rally offers a once-a-year experience for people to immerse themselves into the camaraderie of biker culture with events such as the Miss Las Vegas BikeFest and World’s Strongest Biker competitions. This year will also include new activities such as an impressive Freestyle Sport Bike Stunt Show and the Limpnickie Lot, a collaboration of custom bike builders whose mission is to band together to promote their unique blend of culture and lifestyle.

2011 Las Vegas BikeFest also marks the eighth annual Artistry in Iron, Master Builders’ Championship, an invitation-only, peer judged competition that will take place on Friday and Saturday. Sponsored by American Cycle Magazine, this year’s championship will highlight the self-expression of 20 of the industry’s most notable and innovative master bike builders, including Danny Schneider, Gard Hollinger, Paul Wideman and the 2010 winner Chris Richardson competing for $10,000 in prize money. The participants will unveil their newest, hottest designs on Friday morning.

Among other highlights, event attendees are invited to enter their bikes in BikeFest’s annual Custom Bike Show, taking place at Cashman Center on Saturday, October 1. This show will display more than 125 of the nation’s coolest rides. The winner of the radical class will receive $2,000 in cash plus a custom trophy as well as an automatic invitation for the 2012 Artistry in Iron, Master Builders’ Championship.

Additional show events will include a Harley-Davidson Café Hog Out competition, demo rides, Poker Runs with over $10,000 in prizes, Wet T-shirt and Bikini Contests, Artistry in Iron autograph signing sessions, as well as live music all day on the Village Oasis stage presented by Jagermeister.
