Ok, some say I may have Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). I’d like to say that regardless of what i’m doing….(HEY, look a squirrel)….ok, back now. Where was I? Oh, yeah, looking through games to play when i’m bored or too lazy to go for a ride or take the wife out.
Here’s a trivia game that incorporates the greatest invention of all time… the motorcycle. American Throttle is a fun change of pace among trivia games, providing a new experience for fans of the trivia game genre. This trivia game combines the excitement of motorcycling while testing players knowledge of movies, music, travel destinations and motorcycle history. The game is based on a “poker run” which takes each player on a ride around the United States, stopping at all the major rallies such as Sturgis, Laconia, Daytona, Four Corners and Laughlin. A friendly wager is placed in the “pot” area and after each player has picked their motorcycle game piece, the journey begins. When a rider enters a rally, he or she receives a poker card. The player to reach the Hollister rally first wins half the pot. After all riders have reached the end of their trip, the player with the best poker hand wins the other half of the pot. This trivia game includes two sets of trivia cards… each set having 300 questions means fans can play this game over and over without running into the same question twice. The “Two Wheeler Trivia” cards will test a rider’s knowledge of motorcycles in songs, movies, and other entertainment along with riding skills, poker, and travel destinations. The “What The Hell Is That?” cards will test each player visually when they have to know images and photos of road signs, tools, hand signals, motorcycle parts and accessories and travel destinations. It starts off innocently enough.  A random phone call one day from someone you don’t know, inquiring into who you may know for a possible TV show. Which results in a test video they ask you to shoot to showcase your communication skills and comfort in front of the camera.  The experience of shooting the video is cool and stokes the creative fires (and to some degree ego). The response from the parties involved is positive. They ask you to do a 2nd video. They ask you to tell more about yourself, your life, experiences, work, skills, etc, etc. That’s received positively too. Then “IT” hits.  The daydreaming, the scenarios that play out in your head (both asleep and awake). Discussions with family and friends. All having some impact on your own view of “possibility”, “opportunity”. The what if’s that formulate in your minds eye. It’s a sickness that permeates and starts to consume almost every waking moment.  Then reality strikes and you realize….this is one long a** hail mary shot.  So you come back to ground level and deal with the issues of everyday life. Sick child and your own health, car troubles, bike builds, house hunting, working wife and financial challenges. Thank goodness for reality!  It doesn’t just happen on TV.

Granted, everyday we hear from our doctors that in order for us to stay healthy we need to be working out regularly, running or even changing our diet. And after a while of doing so, somewhere in the deep recesses of our psyche we start having hallucinations or visions of “the man of steel”.  Us turning into some guy that can do super human feats of strength.  Well, ok, maybe those are just fantasies and everyone knows you can’t fight time or gravity.  But regardless of the outcome the guys at Robosteel have a completely different take on the human physique. Using various discarded motorcycle and/or car parts.

Pablo Picasso’s sculpture of the bicycle saddle and a handlebar was the first example of work made from everyday things, using junk or scrap. Like other pieces of Picasso’s work these firsts ones opened up new possibilities for artists. In this instance – sculptors, who for centuries had employed traditional materials such as stone or wood now instead, many of them began to incorporate junk materials into their work (known as assemblages) or fashion new objects from them. We at Guilty have always ventured towards the more “conservative” approach to designs (aka “less is more”)  and while we do have an eye for “newer and cooler” elements for our bikes, we just have to wonder since it’s Christmas time, if Old Saint Nick has the same mindset….stay with the “tried and true” or venture into the “new design” elements?  Here is what we’ve found out in cyber space when some auto designers get a free hand in “repackaging” ole St. Nick.  Enjoy and Merry Christmas! How do you leave a legacy in this life?  You could become president and implement some radical changes to help the masses.  You could set some sports or endurance record. You could discover the cure for Cancer or determine a alternative source of energy.  Or you could have a bike featured in Don “Thunder” Baggett’s “Kickin Asphalt” cartoon in the December 2010 issue of BIKER magazine (page 53).  Featured is the “Errant 2″ bike Guilty Customs built for Ash Spurlin two years ago. (it’s been covered in this blog at various stages).  This bike has really had it’s share of articles and features (both in American, on-line and abroad). Ok, it’s not on the level of curing cancer etc, but we’re stoked either way.  We take our “happy news” wherever we can find it..
